arguments are odd. on the one hand, they're battles. you attack your opponent's position, defend your own, beat them or get pwned and so on. it's a bloody thing, and many people feel uncomfortable about arguments and want us all to just get along. on the other hand, arguments are lessons. if noone will listen to you, then there's no point talking to begin with. if you want to win a war, your opponent should know as little about your position as possible. if you want to win an argument, and your opponent doesn't even know what your position is, then you're in a very odd position. even more odd is that if everyone you're trying to argue agai

everything starts with a metaphor. it's a connection, a line between two dots making a diagram in your mind. every time your feeling up, or down in the dumps, in love, or outside of yourself, you're drawing lines, connecting the dots to draw your own unique picture of the world. this is a story, and a story is a unique kind of metaphor. perhaps it weaves, perhaps it snakes or carves a path, but like time itself, like seconds, one word comes after another with precision and purpose. it's amazing when a writer can create a rush with subtle sounds, when the words fit together and fate is inevitably bound within the next page. it's  more amazi

I'm somewhat less neurotic than I used to be. Somewhat. It's all good anyway. I'm learning to be happy, and figuring out how to be honest, which is territory I haven't really crossed before. It seems that what means the most to me these days is the same as it has always been, but my perspective has changed. I'm being honest and open where I once jealously guarded who I was. I'm a naturalist where I was once religious. And I'm seeing the world for its beauty, rather than for the creeping, crawling things that once lived under my skin.
